Bano Itayim joined Slowik & Robinson in 2011. She handles a variety of the firm’s immigration matters, including family-based immigration, naturalization, deportation and removal proceedings, asylum, provisional waivers for unlawful presence, VAWA petitions, appeals, and Deferred Action for Early Childhood Arrivals. Ms. Itayim helped initiate the firm’s Deferred Action for Early Childhood Arrivals (DACA) practice. She works tirelessly and passionately to obtain the best outcome for each client.

She serves her community by providing pro bono work to victims of crimes through the Ohio Domestic Violence Network.

Ms. Itayim has successfully and efficiently represented clients before the U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the Immigration Courts, the Board of Immigration Appeals, The USCIS Administrative Appeals Office, and US Consulates Abroad. With a proven reputation of developing creative and effective solutions to complex immigration situations, her personalized service, thorough and comprehensive analysis, and attention to detail are the reasons her clients refer her to their friends and relatives. As an immigrant herself, she acknowledges and understands the difficulties of the immigration process and is passionate about her work. She serves the community by providing pro bono representation to victims of crimes through the Ohio Domestic Violence Network and through her work with other not-for-profit organizations in Ohio.

Ms. Itayim graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, Texas, and obtained her law degree at Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan. In 2009, she returned to Texas to work as an Associate Attorney at Ali Zakaria & Associates in Houston, Texas. She is licensed to practice law in Texas and Ohio, and is admitted to practice in the Federal District Court for the Southern District of Texas. Ms. Itayim is a member of the Columbus Bar Association, Women Lawyers of Franklin County, American Bar Association, Texas Young Lawyers Association, and the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).

Currently she lives in Pickerington, Ohio with her husband and their two children.
