Mr. Robinson is an expert in the full gamut of business and family immigration matters, and also represents several Universities and allied health care institutions and workers where he has developed an expertise in J-1 physician waivers and green cards, PERM Alien Labor Certification, and family-based immigration matters (including fiancé visas, hardship waivers, and family-based green cards and visas). Mr. Robinson’s expertise includes advising employers on immigration related compliance issues (I-9 policy and audits), among other related matters.
Mr. Robinson is a graduate of The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law (J.D.), and Miami University, Oxford (B.A. in Diplomacy and Foreign Affairs). He is often sought out and quoted on topical immigration issues in publications such as the Columbus Dispatch, LA Times, Columbus Business First, and The Daily Reporter. He is frequently called on to present to fellow attorneys and legal professionals as an expert speaker at the Ohio State Bar and Columbus Bar Associations, the Employers Resource Association, to various university groups and clubs, local Chambers of Commerce, Rotary Clubs, social service organizations, and other business groups.
Mr. Robinson has served as Special Counsel on immigration law matters to the Office of the Ohio Attorney General, in addition to having served as Adjunct Professor of Immigration & Nationality Law in the Capital University Paralegal Program since 2003. He has repeatedly been recognized as a “Rising Star in Immigration Law” and is a Past President of the Board of Trustees of Community Refugee Immigration Services in Columbus, and he currently serves as a Board Member to the Columbus Literacy Council. He is a longstanding member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
In addition to being an active Partner of Slowik & Robinson, Mr. Robinson is also certified by the National Hockey League Players Association as a Player Representative and works with the sports agency, Edge Sports Management (Pound Ridge, NY), where he advises professional athletes and prospects on a wide variety of issues.
Mr. Robinson lives in Bexley, Ohio, with his wife and three children, two cats, and one dog.
